The Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the most famous treks in Nepal, renowned for its incredible diversity of landscapes and the breathtaking beauty of the Annapurna mountain range. Throughout the journey, you will enjoy magnificent views of Annapurna I, II, III and IV, as well as Gangapurna, Chulu, Pisang Peak, and many other peaks rising above 7,000 meters.
This trek also offers a rich cultural experience through the traditional villages of the Gurung , Manangi, and Thakali communities, where Tibetan influence remains strong. The trail begins in a lush green valley following the Marsyangdi River, passing terraced fields, pine forests, waterfalls, and suspension bridges. As you gain altitude, the scenery gradually changes into alpine terrain and then into a dramatic high-altitude desert landscape.
Along the way, you may visit Tilicho Lake (4,920 m), considered one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world, set in a wild and spectacular mountain environment.
The highlight of the trek is crossing the legendary Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), one of the highest trekking passes in the world. From the top, you will witness outstanding panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, as well as the vast plateaus of Mustang. This crossing is often the most memorable and rewarding moment of the adventure.
The descent then leads to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists, surrounded by dramatic arid landscapes in shades of gold and ochre. Here, the scenery becomes completely different, with dry valleys, wind-shaped cliffs, and a unique Tibetan atmosphere. The trek finishes in the region of Jomsom, in the heart of Lower Mustang, providing a truly magnificent ending to this unforgettable Himalayan journey.
