    There are different ways to obtain a Nepalese visa, it can be obtained upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu; at the Nepal-India border, at the Nepal-China border and can also be obtained at the Nepalese embassies and consulates near you. In order to best prepare your arrival you can fill out a pre-application form online and finalize it when you arrive at the airport. However, note that this pre-application can only be made a maximum of two weeks before your arrival in the territory. Your visa takes effect from the day you arrive on Nepalese soil.     Concerning your place of residence in Nepal, you can enter the address of your hotel. When you apply, you will need a passport photo in JPEG format and a copy of your passport (it must be valid for 6 months after the date you apply for a visa).     1st step
    Fill in the “arrival card”

    Fill in the “Tourist Visa” form online (you can fill it in before your arrival by visiting our official website Immigration Department / fill it in using Kiosk machines when you arrive at the airport). If you complete it from the website, you will receive a submission receipt with a barcode, please print it and bring it with you to obtain a visa. It works for fifteen days and then becomes invalid. If this is the case, you will have to complete it again.

     

    2nd step

    Make the payment to the bank according to your visa (15/30/90 days). Get the receipt. Although you can use different payment methods (at collection counter), we advise you to keep some money. Visas can only be obtained by paying cash in the following currencies: euro, Swiss franc, pound sterling, US dollar, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, Hong Kong dollar, Singapore dollar and Japanese yen. You can still pay by credit card at the immigration offices even if the procedure is a little longer.

     

    Visa fees on arrival at ports of entry :

     

    15 days – 30 USD

    30 days – 50 USD

    90 days – 125 USD

     

    Note : For a period longer than 30 days, you will need to take a 90-day visa.

     

    3rd step

    Go to the immigration office with your online form, payment receipts and passport. Give your documents to the immigration officer for visa processing. The person will issue you a visa to their satisfaction.

    An extension of this one is possible, for this purpose go to the Immigration Department in Kathmandu. A valid passport and a passport size photo are required.

    Visa extension

    An extension of this one is possible, for this purpose go to the Immigration Department in Kathmandu. This can be extended by paying 30 USD for a minimum of 15 days and an additional 3 USD per day. Tourists can stay with a maximum visa of 150 days in the year (from January 1 to December 31).
