    The Khumbu region, also known as the Everest region, is a territory in north eastern Nepal on the Nepali side of Mount Everest which is also called Sagarmatha.     Khumbu Glacier

    The elevation of Khumbu ranges from 3300 meters (11000 feet) to the top of 8848 meters (29029 feet) of Mount Everest. The Khumbu region includes both the Sagarmatha National Park and the buffer zone between Lukla and Monju. Khumbu is a glacier that would be the result of the last ice age 500,000 years ago.
