Muktinath is the most sacred Hindu site in Nepal after the temple of Pashupatinath in Kathmandu. Hindu pilgrims come here to bathe in the 108 water spouts shaped as cows heads and Buddhists come here to pay homage at a shrine enclosing an eternal blue flame. The flight from Pokhara to Jomsom offers magnificent views of Himalayas as it flies through a narrow slice between the tips of two Himalayan giants: Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna I (8,091m). The trail from Jomsom passes along the Kali Gandaki river, the deepest gorge in the world to Kagbeni, a fascinating old citadel.
Jomsom to Muktinath trek is one of the famous trek to do in the Annapurna Region. It is short and easy treks with the magnificent mountain views. Day 04: Pokhara to Jomsom by flight and trek to a Kagbeni (2858m) 3hrs walk.
Day 05: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3817m) 4.30 hrs walk.
Day 06: Muktinath to Kagbeni (2809m) via Chhongkhar village. 6hrs walk.
Day 07: Kagbeni to Marpha Tibetan village (2670m) 5hrs walk .
Day 08: Marha to Kalo pani (2530m) 5hrs walk. a a
Day 09: Kalopani a to Tatopani.(1190m) 6hrs walk.
Day 10: Tatopani to Ghorepani (2860m) 6hrs walk.
Day 11: Ghoreepani to Poon hill (3120m) early in the morning for the sun rise view and rest day at Ghoreepani village.
Day 12: Ghorepani to Tirkhedunga (1577m) 5hrs walk.
Day 13: Tirkhedunga to Birethanti and to Pokhara by jeep . 3hrs walk/ 1hrs drive.
Day 14: Pokhara rest day and visit lake side on own choice.
Day 15: Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus or flight.
Day 16: kathmandu rest day and shopping of souvenirs.
Day 17: Departure.
